Court designing and cleaning prior to line marking for Morgan Sindall

Morgan Sindall refurbished the Sports Hall at East Point Academy and Norfolk Flooring Ltd installed a Taraflex Performance 9mm Sports floor in Silver Gray. First we took the Architect’s sketch as a starting point and supplied Morgans with an indicative court marking drawing (pdf) in full colour and detail for them to forward to the Academy Sports Department for their agreement.

Being a building site the newly installed floor got quite dirty and the builder struggled to clean the floor properly so we also quoted for cleaning the floor using the acclaimed Rotowash machinery to ensure the floor was ready for painting the court lines. We now offer this service as an option at an additional cost to flooring contractors and construction companies where the floor is installed on a building site and may become dusty to make sure the line marking can proceed on schedule.

After cleaning the floor, the courts were masked out, brush painted & finished with foam rollers over a 2 day period. The sports hall was out of bounds for a further 2 days for the paint to cure. We are approved and recommended by Gerflor for indicative court layout drawings, deep cleaning and cleaning Taraflex floors (new and existing) as well as court line painting. We have now marked over 300 Taraflex sports hall floors in the last 30 years.

Once installed Taraflex sports floors should be deep cleaned termly and we now offer this service to Schools and Sports Centres so they can have their floor cleaned professionally 3 times a year to compliment their daily and weekly cleaning schedule. This keeps the floor clean, allowing the factory applied coatings that are a feature of the Taraflex vinyl do the jobs they were designed to do (i.e. hygiene and slip resistance) and extends the life of the floor.
