Visuals should be the start of any sports floor project

Visuals should be the start of any sports floor project

Visuals are not just the the final touch, we believe they should be the start of the conversation. Too often we are asked to prepare the court layout drawing with just a few weeks to go before the work is due to be completed. But when we are involved early in the design process, everything shifts. The project becomes clearer, decisions gain direction, and connection with Clients, Heads of Sport, Facility Manager and Business Manager and the users grows stronger.

A new Sports hall floor is a big investment so give it the time and space to choose well.

Once you choose your floor make and model, give thought to the colour or colours of the floor and the new court layout. Consider the traditional school indoor sports and new ones like Pickleball and Handball. These can increase the revenue from hiring out the Sports hall and allow pupils to play more sports that have become popular since the old floor was installed 20 years ago. Then consider the School logo in the Basketball centre circle to increase school spirit when playing in matches with other Schools.

A visual helps with the choice of floor colour (s) and a court layout drawn in full colour and detail helps with agreeing the new layout. They can be discussed with all stakeholders and agreed prior to ordering materials. Everyone then is sure what they will be getting as often the work is completed out of term.

The range of colours for sports floors is extensive and new colours are added every few years to support modern trends and preferences. Plan ahead and don’t make do with the limited choices that have to be made when you order last minute.
