Did you know that wood sports floors should be recoated every 2-3 years to maintain their sporting characteristics and protect the court markings from wear? You should daily and weekly clean your floor but schools often do not Revive their floors once a term or Recoat their floors every 2-3 years. And this is the minimum care recommended by the sports seal and floor manufacturers.

When combined with the art of court marking we are one of the few companies that offer the total service needed to maintain your sports floors throughout their life.

Maintain your investment - our maintenance services are designed to help keep your wood sports floors looking and performing well throughout their life. In addition, your daily and weekly cleaning is made simpler and more efficient by using us to Revive the floor once a term + Recoat the floor every 2-3 years. If you have not had wood floors recoated for more than six years and the court lines are starting to wear, we can Renovate your floor to restart the process of a proper care regime. Once we Renovate your floor, we will email you a reminder in 2 years time so you can budget for a Recoat.

Apart from your daily and weekly maintenance routine, there are three stages to successful maintenance during the life of your wood sport floors and we refer to them as Bronze, Silver and Gold.

• Revive - Bronze Service when a floor has built up dirt, grime and scuff marks, a deep clean treatment once a term will bring it back to life.

• Recoat - Silver Service when the top layer of a floor’s protective surface is stained or lightly scratched, a recoat treatment will rapidly restore the floor’s lustre and defence. After preparation of the surface an additional coat of seal will regain the sporting characteristics and help protect the court lines for a period of 2-3 years.

• Renovate - Gold Service when a floor shows damage, yellowing, deep scratches or a lifeless appearance, a complete refinish by sanding, sealing and court marking is the recommended procedure. This is usually needed every 12 years. Using our comprehensive sanding equipment and abrasives, the floor is sanded down to bare wood and then finished with 3 coats of seal with new court markings painted before the final coat of seal. A court layout drawing in full colour and detail is prepared for you to share with the PE team and agree the new layout prior to work. We can advise on how you can add some new popular sports to update the court layout and increase revenue from additional hire potential after the Renovation is complete. After you should budget for having the floor Recoated every 2-3 years.

The floor lasts longer, and performs better with the correct maintenance procedure, helping to save money and resources.

We will do an initial inspection of your sports hall or gymnasium floor and advise you the most appropriate action required to maintain or renovate the surface. Our written report will include:

• Recommendations for short term and long term maintenance
• Recommendations for repairs and renovation
• Advice on line markings
• A detailed specification and quotation for any recommended works
